Ingredients

Instructions

  • Brown the butter: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Continue cooking until it smells nutty and has browned bits on the bottom, about 4–5 minutes.
    2. Add sugar + maple: Stir in the brown sugar and maple syrup. Let it bubble gently for about 2 minutes, stirring often.
    3. Add cream & spices: Slowly whisk in the cream (it may bubble). Add apple cider vinegar, pumpkin spice, and salt.
    4. Simmer until smooth: Let it cook for another 3–4 minutes, whisking constantly until slightly thickened.
    5. Finish: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla (if using). Let cool slightly, it thickens as it sits.
