Presoak pitted dates for about 1 hour.Combine the hazelnut meal, raw cacao, maca powder, and salt in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Stir well to ensure the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.Add dates to the high speed blender or food processor with the pitted dates and pulse them. Add nut butter and pulse it again. Don't over-blend, or it'll become a nut butter.Transfer dates to a mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients together and ensure everything is evenly incorporated.Once the mixture is well combined, use your hands to form small balls. If the mixture is too dry and crumbly, add more nut butter, melted coconut oil or maple syrup. Aim for bite-sized balls that are easy to snack on.Place the formed balls on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper. You can roll them in a hazelnut meal, maca powder, or shredded coconut. Put them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up. This will help them hold their shape and enhance their texture.
