- 1 cup of coarse sea salt or kosher salt
- 1/4 cup of fresh tarragon or rosemary
Wash and thoroughly dry your herbs. You can use any herbs you like, such as rosemary, thyme, sage, basil, parsley, cilantro, or a combination of these.
Remove the leaves from the stems and finely chop the herbs using a sharp knife.
In the food processor, pulse the ingredients to desired texture of your liking. Spread the herb salt mixture on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Let the herb salt mixture on cookie sheet air dry for 24-48 hours, occasionally stirring, until the herbs are completely dry and the salt is infused with their flavors. You can also speed up the drying process by placing the baking sheet in a warm oven set to the lowest temperature with the door slightly ajar.
Once the herb salt is completely dry, transfer it to an airtight container and store it in a cool, dry place until you're ready to use it.
And that's it! You can use your fresh herb salt to season meat, vegetables, salads, soups, and more. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
