Learn How To Make Avocado Crema Sauce
Let me start by saying that avocados are nature’s gift to humanity. They’re creamy, versatile, and oh-so delicious. And I must admit I didn’t try avocados until I was 29 when I moved to the US! Initially, I wasn’t sure about it at first, but I changed my mind quickly! Avocados have become one of my favorite foods, and I can’t go without them, especially since I love Mexican food!
Avocado crema is a delicious creamy avocado sauce that doesn’t taste like guacamole, so it’s a bit different! All you need are ripe avocados, a splash of lime juice, yogurt, a pinch of salt, and a food processor or blender. Just toss everything in, blend until smooth, and voila—you’ve got yourself a bowl of velvety goodness.
One of the things I love most about this creamy condiment is its versatility. You can use it as a dip for veggies or tortilla chips, spread it on toast, dollop it on tacos or grilled meats, top the burrito bowls, add to the fish tacos, or even use it as a creamy base for salad dressings. I love to mix this dipping sauce with my chopped vegetables and top it off with fresh cilantro and lemon juice. The possibilities are endless!
But it’s not just the taste and versatility that have me hooked – avocado crema is also incredibly nutritious. Avocados are packed with healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making this creamy delight delicious and good for you.
And let’s talk about the texture for a moment. Creamy, silky, and luscious are just a few words that come to mind when I think about avocado cream. It adds a luxurious touch to any dish and takes it to a whole new level of deliciousness.
So, if you haven’t jumped on the creamy avocado crema sauce bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for? Trust me, once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Whether you’re a hardcore avocado aficionado or just someone looking to add a little creamy goodness to your life, avocado cream will surely become your new favorite condiment.
So go ahead, grab some ripe avocados, and get blending. Your taste buds will thank you, I promise!
Ingredients For Avocado Cream Sauce
- Ripe Avocado Is the star of the show. Choose avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure when squeezed. Ripe avocados have a creamy texture and a rich flavor, which form the foundation of avocado cream.
- Fresh Limes Juice: Add a little lime juice adds brightness and tanginess to the avocado cream. It enhances the flavor and helps prevent the avocados from browning, keeping the cream vibrant and fresh.
- Salt: Just a pinch of salt is all you need to balance the flavors and enhance the avocados’ natural creaminess. Use fine sea salt to season the avocado cream to perfection.
- Greek Yogurt or Sour Cream:Â Opt for plain Greek yogurt to complement the richness of the avocados. Greek yogurt adds a tangy flavor and a thick, creamy texture to the avocado cream. It also boosts the protein content and adds a subtle tang that balances the richness of the avocados.
How To Make Avocado Lime Crema Recipe
- Prepare the Avocados:Â Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh out of the avocados and place it into a food processor or blender.
- Add the Yogurt:Â Spoon the Greek yogurt into the food processor or blender with the avocado flesh. The yogurt will add creaminess and a tangy flavor to the avocado cream.
- Squeeze in the Lime Juice:Â Squeeze fresh lime juice over the avocado and yogurt mixture. The lime juice adds a refreshing citrus flavor and helps prevent the avocados from browning.
- Season with Salt: Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the ingredients in the food processor or blender. The salt will enhance the flavors and balance the sweetness of the avocado and the tanginess of the yogurt.
- Blend Until Smooth:Â Secure the lid on the food processor or blender and blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides of the container as needed to ensure everything is well incorporated.
- Taste and Adjust:Â Once blended, taste the avocado cream and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more salt or lime juice if desired to suit your taste preferences.
- Serve or Store:Â Transfer the avocado cream to a bowl and serve immediately as a dip, spread, or dressing. Alternatively, you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a day. If storing, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the avocado cream to prevent browning.
